In the 'Study it Grammar 3' iBook, there's a great activity to use with the Present Perfect tense, Making a Resume. Now, this can be a real challenge for students who may be on the lower end of the ability spectrum, but I'm happy to say that Andre, the lowest student in the class, successfully made and presented his resume to the class. I think this is also a good example of a student whose fluency may be low, but can shine with a writing project up their alley. Andre finished his resume draft early in the week (on the Tuesday actually!), so he had time to do multiple drafts. The final product, if you know Andre especially, is pretty great. He used past participles really well! The key for me was getting him started as early as possible. He's also really fallen in love with Notability, and especially appreciated the audio notes I shared with him as feedback. |
